Why this page is short and strict

We sell the idea that a signature from a domain means something. The moment one business uses that signature to make a false claim look checked, it means nothing for everybody else. So this page exists to protect the other customers, not to give us an excuse.

Never

• ·Claim an identity for a domain you do not control, or help somebody else do it.
• ·Use an Orbylon signature, badge, proof page or directory listing to suggest we have verified something we have not. We verify domain control, and we verify that a signed file has not been altered. We do not verify that your claims are true, that your licence is current, or that your business is any good.
• ·Publish a credential, licence number or insurance document that is not yours or is not current.
• ·Sell anything illegal where you or your buyer are, and nothing on any applicable sanctions list.
• ·Issue a token, card or pass that can be cashed out, that pays a return, or that is really a deposit wearing a different name. Closed loop is the boundary and it is enforced in the software.
• ·Use the scanner against a domain in order to attack it, or at a volume meant to cost somebody money.
• ·Impersonate a person or a business in a signed document, an invoice, or an email carrying our proof link.

What happens if you do

We suspend the identity, which takes its directory listing, its storefront and its verification pages down at the same time. Signatures it already made stop verifying as current.

Where we can tell you first and give you a chance to fix it, we will, because most breaches of a page like this are a misunderstanding rather than a scheme. Where the harm is to somebody else and it is happening now, we act first and explain afterwards.

Fraud and impersonation get reported to whoever needs to know.

Telling us about a problem

If a listing, a proof page or a signed document on Orbylon looks wrong to you, write to contact@orbylon.com with the link. You do not need an account to report something, and you do not need to be the injured party. We would much rather hear it from you than from the person who got defrauded.

Security problems

If you find a vulnerability, write to contact@orbylon.com with enough detail to reproduce it and give us a chance to fix it before you publish. We will not threaten you for reporting one in good faith.
