Agent payments settle in digital dollars, which move in seconds and cost a fraction of a cent to send. There is no card network in the middle, so there is no three day wait and no cross border surcharge.
What it needs from you is an account that can receive them. What it does not need is for you to hold anything you did not want to hold, or to learn anything about crypto.
What it costs you
The loss you never see happen.
Without it, every agent payment route above is a door with nothing behind it. Being payable and being able to receive the payment are two different settings.
The ordinary version of this cost is the one you already know: money that takes days to arrive and shrinks on the way when it crosses a border.

We set up receiving into an account only you control, and where you want the money converted to your own currency, that is done by a regulated partner and not by us.
